Remember Wicket, the dog we were so read to adopt and love? Well, turns out he doesn't exist.
See, I had been conversing with this dude through email who had the puppies. He sent me some information on how to pay for the transport to get the dog. Well, as most of you know, Cameroon is a sketchy place to send money via Western Union, and that is exactly what this "Petair Transport" company was asking me to do.
As soon as we saw that, Ricky and I got to Googling. We read all about pet scams where they get your money from "sending" the nonexistent pet your way. You never get it and they get your money.
So I contacted this dude again, told him we weren't sure, and that this seemed really fishy. We didn't think sending money to Cameroon was a good idea. He seemed weirded out and said he would get in contact with the company again. They then sent another email, asking us to send the money to Canada. Yeah, still not going to happen.
In the meantime, I got smart and googled the email address of the guy I had been talking to. Here's what I found:

Well, Mr. Skymesh is one busy bee, and we decided to net him know that we weren't happy with his intentions. I sent him a scathing email telling him what a terrible person he is, and insinuated our desires that he spend the afterlife in a not-so-comfortable climate.
So, Wicket is gone, along with my hopes. But not completely. Ricky and I have visited an adoption shelter run by an American guy, and we intend on adopting from him. We found a couple dogs that have made an impression on us, and we will return later in order to find our perfect new family member.
